Scott: Yeah. So I left school at 15, started my apprenticeship. And from there, I’ve subcontracted. From 20 year old, I was fully qualified. Spent the next sort of 5, 10 years subcontracting, working all over New South Wales. Then decided to get my builder’s license, and, you know, started doing it myself. And within the last six or seven years, we’ve been doing that. But we just needed more. So we, yeah, started looking around at different franchise options. We’ve looked at a heap of different options. We ended up going with Stroud just because straight away, we enquired, and within two days, we had someone down here tell us about the product and what they do. And, yeah, so then we jumped aboard, and here we are.
Brooke: Like we were on a stage where we’re going, “Oh my God. Wait. What’s this job at? Where is this job up to, you know? What’s going on with this?” And what Stroud gave us with the systems and everything was just organization.
Scott: It’s all the little things. They’re quite easy. Like everyone has frames to get done and, you know, trusses going next and this, but it’s all the little one-percenters. And being a partner of Stroud, you know, of the Stroud Group, then one-percenters don’t get missed. They’re all in place. Even down to just even send a welcome, welcome letter to the clients when they’re starting. Like, we’ve got notifications that, you know, tell us that the…
Scott: Yeah. Looking at a few different franchise, we ended up sort of deciding to go with Stroud, just the environment and, yeah, just the professionalism straight off the bat with the team from the first day we made contact with them. And yeah, they approached us and showed us the systems, and everything got in place, and yeah, and they… It’s the 10-year advantage, basically, where we’re sitting in a position now after 2 months. But we couldn’t have done it ourselves. If we did it ourselves, if we hadn’t become a franchisee, it would have…I believe it would have took us 10 years to get to where we are in the first 4 months.
Yeah. And that’s the beauty with James. He’s so involved in the business. He still runs a Stroud Homes himself up in Brisbane South Acreage. He’s still involved in the business. And in 10 years, to see what these… The blokes done, from just a small building company in Jimboomba to 10 years later having 40 franchisees all successful across Australia, it’s pretty amazing.
Brooke: Everything’s changed. Oh my goodness. So we actually sleep better every night, I think, because you’re not worrying, you know, what this job’s up to, what that job’s up to because you know everything’s scheduled, everyone’s doing their job. It should all be fine. It’s probably changed that people are coming to us wanting to work with us now. Instead of us having to chase people, you know, they’re coming to us, which is different.
Scott: It’s changed a lot. Like I enjoy just getting up every morning and coming to work. Everything’s so organized, you know. Everyone’s got a job. Everyone does their job. It’s just a really good working environment, which then reflects, you know, back to your home environment. So…
Brooke: Yeah, definitely.
Scott: …you know, you’re coming home happy.
Brooke: Just the support from them, like, absolutely blew us away. Like, you know, people can promise all this stuff, but they’re a company that actually do what they say. So they said, “We’re gonna be here for you.” They have been there for us the whole way, you know. Any question, straight on the phone to them. Send them a message, and it’s answered straight away.
