In this video, we hear what our Melbourne Outer Eastern franchise owner Cammeron Gale has to say about joining the Stroud Homes business.
Video Transcript:
Cammeron: My name’s Cammeron Gale. I’ve been working in the building industry in excess of 27 years. Obviously, starting off as an apprentice carpenter and working my way through different aspects of the construction industry, from new homes, extensions, renovations, through to insurance repair work and commercial project managements on some big buildings throughout Melbourne.
Well, I’ve sort of focused a lot more in recent times in new home constructions, which has led me to Stroud Homes, and to expand our business down along those lines there.
I chose to choose Stroud Homes for many reasons. One, having support from head office along with some great systems that have helped me develop my business into a very efficient one, whether it’s the quoting through to the estimating, through to the communications with clients and trades to really streamline the construction industry. This is also along with the products that are available and the designs that Stroud Homes offer. It’s just so suited to the area and they’re very unique compared to the run-of-the-mill builds going on at the moment.
So since joining Stroud Homes, obviously, my work-home life balance has probably balanced out for the better for everybody. I guess the systems that are provided through Stroud Homes allows me to prioritise my day efficiently as well as servicing customers, contractors, through to even Stroud Homes head office, and most importantly, my family, obviously. So to have those systems to really help my work-home life balance has been fantastic.
My objective in the coming years is basically to offer more choice within the local area, whether it’s from designs, experience, right through to satisfaction, and give the building industry a great name again.
Being part of team:

Matthew: What do you think is different between doing it by yourself and doing it with a team that has… Part of what we’re trying to do at Stroud Homes is offer that, I guess, sort of, mentoring where we try and give you the skills and the tools but also the confidence to go out and grow your own business. How have you found that?
Cammeron: Well, it’s definitely…especially with the design aspects and having a product to sell has been fantastic on that avenue compared to being on my tools previously and coming home and trying to do all of that. So having that support with people around me for any questions or experience that may be a little bit different to what I’m used to has been fantastic.
The 10 year advantage:

Matthew: Where you can get your business to… If you were to do it all by yourself, collect the plans, build the systems, try some systems, find out they’re not working for you, it can be a 10-year process. So at Stroud Homes, we like to think that we’ve got, what we call, the 10-year advantage. Is that something that you can see?
Cammeron: Well, definitely having a product available has been a great kickstart to moving forward, so definitely an advantage. And having a design team there to help you assist with future designs that may complement the area that we’re working in has been fantastic. It definitely got me a kickstart into that side of it, and having that support from that design team is priceless.
