Gold Coast home builders Joe Mudri and Justin Vella have worked together in the construction industry for many years. They are excited to head up the Stroud Homes Gold Coast franchise. Hear what they have to say about the Stroud franchise system and what it’s been like so far.

Joe: I’m been in building for the last 32-odd years. When I finished high school, I went out to be a carpenter. Then I went into shop fitting. And probably about 20 years ago, I became a licensed builder, and I’ve just been involved in building all my life.

Justin: My experience in the building industry, I’ve been a plumber for 15 years, ran a plumbing company for 8 years, and then been a builder for the last 12 months. Purchased a building franchise just because plumbing was getting a bit boring and I wanted to have a crack at something new. And I love building so I jumped into that.

Joe: Justin and I have been working together for many, many years before that. We decided way back then that we wanted to do something together, and Justin had come up with this opportunity at Stroud Homes, and we had a look into it and saw that Stroud Homes is a great company. You know, they could guide us through because we’ve both been on the tools. We knew that these guys could help us through the whole process. And, yeah, it’s worked really, really well.

Stroud’s a bit different to all the other franchises. They really care about their clients. It was more about it being a family atmosphere and then just having the support from them and, yeah, not being just, like, part of a bigger company but being a smaller company. That way, you’re more involved with the franchisees. And there’s a great bunch of team that runs behind us as well, and we get along with them really well. So it’s working really well.

Justin: Yeah, I chose Stroud Homes because I’ve just seen them, sort of, everywhere and like their designs, and now that we’re involved in it, the training and the support’s good, fantastic.

Joe: In the future, we’ve definitely got a couple displays we’re building. To be able to recognize that we’re here, and we’re going to be out there trying to do these knockdown rebuilds, which I think is where the future is going to be for the company. Make sure that people know who Stroud Homes are.

Justin: In the future, we just want to get a heap of jobs going and run a really smooth company and build some nice homes.
